Communication support, including augmentative and alternative communication where appropriate.
Speech Therapy supports receptive and expressive language, auditory perception and speech intelligibility. These foundations help learners understand instructions, express ideas and gain access to literacy and academic content.
AAC is used when speech alone does not meet a learner’s communication needs. Systems may be low- or high-tech and are selected to improve real communication across classrooms, home and community settings.
