Assessment helps the district understand the learner’s educational needs, current functioning, communication, mobility, independence and the support required to participate. It is not a guarantee of placement at a particular school.
The district official considers the multidisciplinary findings and recommends the school setting that best matches the learner’s needs. Families receive the formal placement outcome through the relevant district process.
